Abby had a happy home with three other cats for thirteen years. Then their person died. The next year was difficult: fed in an empty house, rescued by Stray Cat Blues and lived in a foster’s home, adopted, returned, went Whiskers Way Station (the finishing school for shy cats), to PetSmart, and back to Whiskers Way Station.

We just had a new volunteer join us at Stray Cat Blues. She spent one morning a week at Whiskers Way Station feeding all the cats and cleaning cages. There was this lovely little tuxedo cat in the kitten room that was always on her lap when she was in the room but hissed at everyone else. Our volunteer was not looking for a second cat. She’s a senior person and generally only considered senior cats (not wanting to have a cat outlive her). Then she got an email that said, “Poor senior Abby, we really must find her a home.” Abby is a senior? Abby was taken right home with our volunteer. She is a truly wonderful cat. She spends almost all day and night with our volunteer - on her, next to her, or on the bed. Abby has decided she owns her right leg and her other cat (also from Stray Cat Blues) owns her left leg. The cats are often on her lap at the same time. Abby picked our volunteer and they have a wonderful time together.
